SNI Financial has partnered with a well-established real estate private equity firm that is actively expanding its operations in Dallas and seeking an experienced Controller. This position offers immediate impact, high visibility, and significant upside. Following this hire, the firm intends to quickly scale the accounting team, with the opportunity for the role to grow into a fund-level Controller or Director overseeing multiple funds.

The Opportunity

The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing fund accounting, reporting, and performance analytics for real estate investment funds and separate accounts. The ideal candidate brings deep real estate fund accounting experience,

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP and NCREIF PREA Reporting Standards
  • Oversee fund accounting activities, including consolidations, journal entries, NAVs, and capital activity
  • Manage audit and tax coordination
  • Analyze and report fund and investment performance metrics; support investor and consultant reporting
  • Partner with portfolio management to assess performance drivers and benchmark against NCREIF indices
  • Administer Yardi for property and fund-level accounting; support systems integration and process improvements

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of real estate fund accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of NCREIF PREA Reporting Standards (NPRS)
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi
  • Experience supporting institutional investors, pension funds, and consultants
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fair value accounting (ASC 820)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, MBA, or CFA preferred
