The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the organization's accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to financial policies and standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining fiscal integrity, supporting program teams with financial insights, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and audit requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, assisting with quarterly and year-end closings.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with GAAP, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Work closely with senior leadership on annual budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Track and report on restricted funds, grants, and donor contributions, ensuring proper allocation and documentation.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Blackbaud, Sage Intacct, or similar.
  • Solid grasp of fund accounting principles and grant reporting requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis functions.
