Assistant Director of Residential Supports Of Easterseals Northwest Ohio

Location: Bowling Green, Ohio

Pay: Up to $71,392.88 Based On Qualifications And Experience.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8a-5p Flex

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates processes and procedures that comply with county, state, Medicaid, and Medicaid Waiver regulations
  • Ensures accurate and proper documentation of services; ensures that services adhere to regulation standards
  • Trains, assists and directs supervisory personnel in preparing for local, state and federal reviews.
  • Trains, assists and directs staff in following agency policies and procedures
  • Manages quality of services from the direct line to ensure full compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Supervises assigned personnel, including interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, disciplining and terminating, reviewing and approving work schedules.
  • Shall perform duties of absent personnel as needed
  • Adheres to Easterseals Human Resources and EEO/AA policies and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Trains others in person centered program development, including behavioral, social, cognitive, daily living, communication, and life planning
  • Regularly completes home visits to interact with staff and support people.
  • Provides back up to on call after business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Assists to cover open shifts when necessary
  • Available to call center after hours and on weekends to handle emergencies
  • Understands and maximizes all funding possibilities, combining tasks into efficient workflow to get more out of fewer resources
  • Determines appropriate staffing needs
  • Communicates ongoing with supervisory and direct line staff to improve staff engagement; plans and implements regular team building/development activities
  • Serves as a liaison between Easterseals and community stakeholders
  • Works in cooperation with marketing efforts; participates in community events to build awareness and relationships.
  • Reviews programs regularly and recommends changes as appropriate.
  • Communicates with individuals support teams; problem solve with team as issues arise
  • Collaborate with other department leaders to provide an individualized and holistic approach to services offered
  • Responds to crisis situations immediately and appropriately, participants in open on-call, and provide crisis intervention assistance
  • Establishes and maintalns effective relationship with participants and other stakeholders
  • Gathers and evaluates feedback from participants and other stakeholders; recommends changes as appropriate based on feedback.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience with supervision of employees
  • Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and other required screenings
  • Demonstrated record of leadership experience preferred
  • Experience managing Medicaid/Medicaid Walver programs preferred
  • Ability to understand and analyze income statements and other reports to manage daily operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to support individuals with challenging behaviors
  • Ability to communicate with multiple individuals in their preferred mode of communication
  • Ability to perform light to moderate lifting when needed
  • Ability to pass and maintain required training such as CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Positive
  • Behavior Supports Training, and other training as deemed necessary by the agency
  • Possession of valid driver's license, safe driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Meet or exceed all of Ohio's Department of Developmental Disabilities requirements for the Director of Operations.

Work Environment/Conditions

Assistant Director performs duties in a standard office environment. Assistant Director works with minimum

supervision, both alone and with others in a team environment. Assistant Director frequently works on several tasks at

the same time, often under pressure. Work may require moderate to heavy lifting. Assistant Director occasionally works

extended hours, weekends and/or evenings, and occasionally travels out of town, sometimes overnight. The position

requires direct client care if needed.

Work may require moderate to heavy lifting up to 75lbs while working with clients. Incumbent may work with

violent/physically aggressive participants and respond to emergency situations involving potential physical harm to self

and others.
