Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides program planning, coordination, administration, and supervision (as applicable) for CRC prevention programs.
Appointed by the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services Board to serve under the Whole Child Matters Grant as an IECMH Consultant for multiple counties within Northwest Ohio.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide on-site consultation in childcare settings regarding behavior management issues and social/emotional development
Conduct on-site observations of individual children and the caregiving environment at the request of childcare personnel
Conduct informal developmental assessments of infants and young children
Assist with referrals for additional assessment, consultations, or other services when necessary
Assist with the development and implementation of program evaluation strategies, including parent and teacher/staff knowledge and self-efficacy related to problem-solving and implementing interventions; changes in child behavior related to successful participation in the early childhood setting; changes in environmental factors in early childhood settings
Collect data and reporting information by maintaining accurate and objective records of consultation activities
Attend Early Intervention Team meetings monthly and provide consultation to early intervention teams and families
Fulfill all program and grant deliverables, including adapting to revised expectations or reporting requirements as directed by funders or leadership.
Monitor referrals, scheduling, and utilization of Prevention Services
Assign duties and cases to prevention staff
Utilize trauma informed care to inform decision making
Promote trauma-informed care by utilizing the core values and tools of trauma informed care with both clients and staff
Coordinating inter-agency and intra-agency activities with treatment team/providers (this includes participating in staff meetings and team meetings)
o Demonstrating respect for other professionals and disciplines
o Articulating client needs and advocate on their behalf
o Negotiate and be flexible with treatment providers both within and across agencies, leading to implementation of appropriate service plans for clients
Demonstrate respect for other professionals and disciplines
Participate in cooperative efforts within and across CRC program areas
Articulate client needs and advocate on the client's behalf
Assist in promoting early childhood mental health throughout Northwest Ohio
Conduct oneself in a professional manner
o In appearance and demeanor
o Promoting agency mission and values
o Consistently utilizing trauma-informed practice and approaches in accordance with the Sanctuary Model
o Express self in an articulate, organized, and grammatically correct fashion in both oral and written communications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in health and human services field (required)
Master's degree in health and human services field (preferred)
Exceptional organization, reading and writing skills (required)
Experience with data tracking (required)
Maintain current licensure/certification (when applicable) with identified state boards for the state of Ohio
o Practice within the scope of licensure
Experience working with infants, toddlers, young children, adolescents, and families (caregivers)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A satisfactory criminal records check (BCI and FBI check)
Valid driver's license and transportation with insurance
Ability to utilize computer programs such as:
o Microsoft programs such as Teams, Word, Excel, PPT, etc.
o Electronic Health Record (when applicable)

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
