The Monell Chemical Senses Center is a world-renowned non-profit research institute, and a global leader dedicated to advancing knowledge about the senses of taste, smell, and related senses and translating its discoveries into real-world advances in policy, practice, and behavior. Monell is located in the heart of the vibrant educational and life sciences hub of Philadelphia. The Wise lab is seeking a Research Technician
The scientist in this role will work with a dynamic project team to execute psychophysical/sensory experiments toward understanding sensory mechanisms underlying beverage preference. Specific responsibilities include maintaining stocks and purchasing research supplies, recruiting and scheduling human research participants, preparing samples for tasting, executing psychophysical tests following specified protocols, record keeping/data entry, and communicating results to the project team.
Skills and Experience Required:
- B.A. or B.S. in Behavioral or Biological Science, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field
- Ability to strictly implement research protocols and maintain records
- Ability to instruct research participants to ensure accurate data collection
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Evidence of being a good team player
- Demonstrated passion, enthusiasm, and flexibility
- Familiarity with MS Office software, including Word and Excel
