Job Objective/ Summary

The Lifestyles Assistant is responsible for assisting the Lifestyles Director with leading programs, activities, and other events to enrich the lives of our residents. He/she is responsible for building relationships with our residents to effectively encourage the continued social and physical well-being of each resident and to encourage participants to prioritize their health and wellness through various events, classes, programs, and presentations.

Essential Functions

Assist the Lifestyles Director with program planning.

  • Design and teach wellness classes that promote a healthy lifestyle. ? Use data from a resident's physical assessment to create a personalized wellness plan.
  • Offer Fitness Center and equipment orientation to residents, employees, and guests.
  • Lead Lifestyle programs and activities, including the setup and take down for programs, events, parties, and meetings.
  • Create a fitness plan for residents after they complete their physical therapy sessions.
  • Assist with content of the monthly calendar and publication.
  • Provide assistance before, during and after resident outings.
  • Communicate with residents and associates regarding activities, programs, and events.
  • Engage residents and employees in community events by helping to coordinate logistics of the events such as creating t-shirts, flyers, etc.
  • Assist in supporting volunteers with programs and events, as directed.
  • Plan and execute employee wellness fairs.
  • Attend all required training, in-service and staff meetings.
  • Assist transportation department as needed, including driving and creation of the transportation schedule.
  • Design and implement Staff Wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain all fitness equipment following the recommended guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • Must successfully pass the mandated criminal background checks.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass the pre-employment reference checks.
  • Must be able to provide official grade transcripts of the education level provided on the employment application.
  • Must be able to provide a copy of his/her own social security card for W-4 documentation.
  • Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 to establish identity and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, personal automobile liability insurance, and maintain acceptable motor vehicle record as determined in the sole discretion of the Estates and the Estates' automobile insurance carrier.
  • Required to work some evenings and weekends.

Job Education, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • One year or more in a similar role or experience with event planning or fitness instruction.
  • Affinity toward senior adults.
  • Organization and customer service skills.
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other associates in English.
  • CPR and First Aide Certification
  • Clean driving record.
  • Determined to be eligible to drive Estates' vehicles as determined by the Estates' automobile insurance carrier.
