Job Summary:
As a Data Center Technician Level 2, you will play a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity of our data center infrastructure. You'll be responsible for hands-on support of servers, network hardware, and structured cabling, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. This role requires a strong technical foundation, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to resolve issues quickly. You will act as a second-level escalation point for troubleshooting hardware failures, connectivity issues, and environmental alerts, while also supporting installations, upgrades, and audits. Your work directly supports the reliability and scalability of our IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, network devices, and other data center hardware.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity issues.
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) and respond to alerts.
- Perform routine audits and inventory management of data center assets.
- Execute structured cabling tasks including fiber and copper patching.
- Support remote hands requests from internal teams and external vendors.
- Document procedures, incidents, and asset changes accurately.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational policies.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a data center or IT infrastructure support role.
- Strong understanding of server hardware, networking, and cabling standards.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Experience with Linux/Windows OS is a plus.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or DC-specific training are a plus.
