About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable School Accountant to manage the financial operations of our school. This role is essential to ensure accurate accounting, proper handling of funds, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The accountant will play a key role in establishing sound financial practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for the executive committee.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Oversee budgeting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
  • Process school-related payments using official accounts and ensure reimbursements are properly documented.
  • Implement and enforce proper financial procedures to prevent the use of personal credit cards for school expenses.
  • Assist in audits and coordinate with external accountants or auditors as needed.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to the executive committee on policy and strategic decisions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional accounting or finance experience, preferably in an educational institution.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office applications.
