Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HVAC/R Service Technician to oversee, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC equipment. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, equipment startup, and technical training while ensuring seamless integration with building automation systems. A strong emphasis is placed on chillers containing Turbocor magnetic bearing technology and control system integration to optimize performance and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in mechanical repairs, system troubleshooting, and controls integration, with a strong focus on documentation, customer service, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform equipment startup, commissioning, and detailed documentation of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, motors, heat exchangers, compressors, boilers, and pneumatic/electrical control systems.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship, assisting technicians in troubleshooting and system optimization.
  • Oversee building automation system (BAS) integration, working closely with system integrators.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales engineers, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct acceptance inspections of new equipment installations and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Respond to customer emergencies, providing quick and efficient solutions.
  • Maintain strict safety standards and best practices in daily work.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
  • Advanced troubleshooting and repair experience in commercial HVAC/R systems.
  • Strong knowledge of MODBUS, BACnet, and control systems integration.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, isolate issues, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Experience with high-voltage (460V) AC/DC circuits and advanced electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate service records.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maximize resources/technology to find solutions.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
Education & Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational or trade school training in HVAC/R preferred.
  • Formal training in at least four of the following areas: chillers, cooling towers, boilers, furnaces, refrigeration, or air conditioning equipment.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC/R maintenance and repair.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
