Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Overview:

Little Debbie's Second Chance Home, Inc. is seeking compassionate and dedicated Behavior and Mental Health Direct Care Workers to join our BQRT (Behavioral Quality Response Team) program. The ideal candidates will play a crucial role in providing direct care and support to individuals facing behavioral and mental health challenges, fostering an environment that promotes healing, growth, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Support: Provide direct care to clients, assisting with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and medication management while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

  • Behavioral Interventions: Implement behavior intervention plans as directed by the supervisory team, utilizing evidence-based strategies to address behavioral issues and promote positive outcomes.

  • Mental Health Support: Offer emotional support and guidance to clients, helping them manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns through active listening and therapeutic interventions.

  • Data Collection and Monitoring: Document client progress and behavioral changes accurately, reporting any significant observations to the clinical team for ongoing assessment and adjustment of treatment plans.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary team members, including therapists, psychiatrists, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication regarding client needs.

  • Crisis Management: Employ crisis intervention strategies effectively to de-escalate challenging situations and ensure safety for both clients and staff.

  • Program Participation: Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to behavioral and mental health care.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience: Prior experience in direct care, mental health, or behavioral settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with BQRT services or similar programs is a plus.

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with team members.

  • Compassion and Empathy: A genuine desire to help individuals struggling with mental health and behavioral challenges, demonstrating patience and understanding.

  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred; crisis intervention training is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Setting: Direct Care Workers will operate primarily in a residential or group home setting, providing support to clients in various living situations.

  • Schedule: Flexibility in scheduling is essential, with the potential for evening and weekend shifts as needed.
