Role Overview

Puffy is a Top 5 US mattress brand with 100% YoY growth since 2016, recognized as a Great Place to Work. This role is for a strategic procurement professional ready to become the architect of our supply chain innovation.

You'll take total ownership of our global sourcing strategy, discovering and qualifying game-changing materials, technologies, and manufacturing capabilities that directly influence our product roadmap. You'll forge strategic partnerships that transcend transactions and shepherd new products from concept to market—acting as the critical link between bold design concepts and manufacturing excellence.

What Is In It For You:

This isn't just another procurement role. This is your chance to become a true industry architect.

1. Architect Supply Chain Innovation as a Competitive Weapon

Most procurement roles focus on cost reduction and vendor management. You'll discover and qualify game-changing materials and technologies that create tangible competitive advantages. You'll build a world-class supplier network that functions as a strategic asset, not just a cost center. Scout emerging materials science trends. Identify manufacturing capabilities before competitors know they exist. Forge partnerships with suppliers who become innovation collaborators. Your sourcing decisions directly shape the product roadmap. Your supplier relationships unlock capabilities that drive product breakthroughs. You're not buying components—you're architecting competitive advantage.

2. Partner with the 1%

  • Top 5 Mattress Brand in US
  • Great Place to Work Certified
  • Work with Forbes Council Member CEO
  • Gain firsthand exposure to strategic decisions and high-velocity execution that drives a global brand

3. Own End-to-End Product Innovation Lifecycle

Shepherd new products from concept to market. Be the bridge between creative designers, product teams, operations, and manufacturing partners. Translate bold design concepts into manufacturing reality. Navigate complex global supply chains to bring innovative consumer products to market. Your work sits at the product development table, not at the end of it. You'll see your sourcing decisions become bestselling products on the market.

4. Build Global Manufacturing Networks That Create Unfair Advantages

Construct a resilient global supplier network that gives Puffy advantages competitors can't match in quality, speed, and innovation. Establish relationships across international manufacturing hubs. Structure complex partnerships that go beyond price to secure long-term innovation and growth. Your network becomes the infrastructure that enables rapid product launches and exclusive material access. In two years, competitors will wonder how we ship products they can't source.

What You'll Need:

  • 3+ years of strategic sourcing or global procurement experience: With a proven track record of bringing innovative consumer products from concept to market
  • Innovation Sourcing Expertise: Demonstrated success in discovering and qualifying game-changing suppliers, materials, or technologies that created tangible competitive advantages
  • Global Supply Chain Mastery: Established relationships across international manufacturing hubs and the ability to navigate complex global supply chains
  • Strategic Thinking Capabilities: A mindset that sees suppliers as innovation partners, with the ability to spot future best-selling components and anticipate product needs
  • Exceptional Communication & Influence: Proven ability to translate between creative and technical teams and align stakeholders from design to finance around a central strategy
  • Strategic Negotiation Mastery: Expertise in structuring complex partnerships that go beyond price to secure long-term innovation and growth
  • Confidentiality Expertise: Experience handling sensitive product roadmaps, proprietary material information, and strategic plans with the highest standards of discretion

Good-to-Have:

  • D2C Brand Experience: Understanding of the speed and agility required in a direct-to-consumer environment
  • Materials & Manufacturing Trend Obsession: A genuine passion for following and identifying emerging trends in materials science and production
  • AI-Native Systems Exposure: Familiarity with modern, tech-forward tools for procurement and supply chain management
