Financial Service Manager  Facility: Calvin Community Location: 4210 Hickman Rd Des Moines, IA Schedule: Full-time | Day Shift (Monday–Friday)

Calvin Community is a compassionate long-term care and skilled nursing facility committed to providing exceptional resident care. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Services Manager to join our administrative team. This role is essential in overseeing billing, claims, and accounts receivable while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in all resident financial records. 
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update census information, resident files, and billing setup in MatrixCare (or applicable system).
  • Prepare and process private pay statements, ancillary charges, Medicaid, and Medicare claims.
  • Review and follow up on all outstanding statements and claims, including private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and co-insurance.
  • Assist with Medicaid and Elderly Waiver applications as needed.
  • Utilize insurance carrier portals to verify eligibility, review claims, and secure pre-authorizations as needed.
  • Maintain resident personal accounts; receive and deposit funds, record payments, and prepare deposit records.
  • Monitor and collect delinquent accounts; establish payment arrangements and follow up as necessary.
  • Process payments for residents' bills and assist with checks, invoices, and vouchers.
  • Communicate effectively and cooperatively with all facility department directors, staff, and administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with long-term care or healthcare billing required.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing practices.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and payers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to research and resolve denials, discrepancies, and appeals.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in billing systems (MatrixCare preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
