WHO YOU ARE

  • You have experience with small business finance—preferably in a home service, trades, or seasonal business

  • You're proficient in QuickBooks, spreadsheets, and financial reporting tools

  • You understand job costing, labor burden, and seasonal budgeting

  • You love reconciling accounts, organizing systems, and simplifying reports

  • You're proactive, reliable, and thrive on bringing clarity to leadership

  • You're comfortable managing weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycles without hand-holding

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Day-to-Day Financials

  • Maintain books in QuickBooks or Xero: income, expenses, bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Track accounts receivable, payable, and contractor/vendor payments

  • Record payroll expenses and oversee labor cost reporting (in coordination with HR/payroll provider)

Reporting & Analysis

  • Provide weekly and monthly financial reports to ownership

  • Track key metrics: job costing, margin by service line, labor % of revenue, etc.

  • Monitor cash flow and alert leadership to risks or opportunities

Systems & Support

  • Help clean up and document financial SOPs

  • Organize digital records, receipts, and bank statements

  • Coordinate with outside CPA, bookkeeper, or tax preparer as needed

Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Assist with annual budgeting and seasonal projections

  • Create simple forecasts for revenue, labor, and expense targets

  • Partner with leadership to analyze performance vs plan
