Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across various properties. Duties

• Install, service, and repair a wide range of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system inspections, and calibration to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems using tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment to identify electrical faults or mechanical failures.
• Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems including pipe repairs, fittings, and drainage issues.
• Diagnose complex issues with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Repair appliances and mechanical components in property maintenance settings with precision and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or upgrades of HVAC systems on construction sites.
• Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all work performed.
• Operate a driver vehicle safely for transportation of tools or equipment between job sites.
• Follow safety protocols rigorously to prevent accidents or injuries during field service operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with all work completed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician or in a similar field service role with a strong mechanical background.
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles along with the ability to read schematics accurately.
• Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with plumbing systems related to HVAC setups is essential.
• Mechanical knowledge encompassing boilers, appliances repair, welding techniques, and general equipment repair is required.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively for electrical troubleshooting.
• Construction experience is a plus for understanding building integration projects.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for safe transportation duties.
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently in the field under minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members professionally.
• Certifications in HVAC/R (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) are preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary.
