Seeking Animal Care Assistant/Customer Service Representative for an animal hospital in the East Avenue area of Rochester. This person will work closely with the vet and licensed vet techs to provide service to all clients. Additionally, the ACA will be cross trained as a Customer Service Representative. Top applicants will possess strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills, flexibility, compassion, integrity, and have a positive attitude. NO WEEKENDS OR MAJOR HOLIDAYS

As an ACA, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • assisting the veterinary team with pet care
  • sick and routine exams
  • inpatient and outpatient care
  • laboratory duties
  • dispensing medications
  • medical record notation and maintenance
  • OSHA awareness and compliance
  • maintaining a practical knowledge of hospital procedures, services and policies
  • cleaning of the hospital and kennels

The position will require lifting up to 50lbs, carrying and restraining animals, and walking/standing for extended periods of time. The position also requires cross training as a customer service representative. As a CSR, you will:

  • provide professional service to all clients in person, over the phone, and through email
  • readily acknowledge and engage clients and actively listen to their concerns
  • serve as liaison between the client and the veterinarian by corresponding client questions and concerns for the doctor
  • use scheduling software to accurately set up exams and surgeries
  • process client payments
  • maintain patient records
  • complete referrals to specialists as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 33 – 39 per week
