Talent Development & Event Director

Champaign County Chamber of Commerce – Champaign, IL (onsite)

Are you an energetic, organized, and outgoing professional who thrives on building relationships, planning events, and developing programs that make a real impact? The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Talent Development & Event Director to lead our workforce readiness, leadership, and signature event initiatives that connect local businesses, schools, and emerging leaders.

What You'll Do

Lead workforce and talent initiatives that prepare the next generation for success—managing K–12 programs like iRead
• iCount and Manufacturing Day and collaborating with schools, employers, and volunteers.

Oversee leadership programs like LEAD Champaign County and Table for Ten, helping emerging and mid-level professionals grow and connect.

Manage major Chamber events such as the Golf Outing, from sponsorships and logistics to budgets and member experience.

Develop engaging seminars and webinars that support workforce and business development.

Represent the Chamber on workforce boards and community committees, helping to shape the future of our local economy.

Who You Are

A people-person who loves connecting, communicating, and creating meaningful experiences.

A master multitasker who can juggle multiple programs, events, and relationships with ease.

A strategic thinker who sees the big picture and can bring ideas to life.

A professional with 3–5 years of experience in program management, workforce development, education, or a related field.

Someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced, community-driven environment.

What We Offer

Competitive Salary: $50,000 annually

401(k) with Safe Harbor Match: 100% match up to 6% of pay (eligible after 3 months)

Generous Paid Time Off: 20 days annually, plus 11 paid holidays
