Overview
The Payroll Operations Specialist serves as the primary payroll liaison for the Leave Accommodations team, managing all payroll processes related to leaves of absence for Chick-fil-A, Inc. and its Related Entities. This role also encompasses leading customer service and inquiry management for the Payroll Operations team, in addition to executing various other essential payroll tasks. The position requires comprehensive technical payroll principles and practices, works with minimal supervision on complex matters, and demonstrates the ability to consult with and advise colleagues effectively. In addition, this role will elevate processes and procedures by thoughtfully applying current and emerging technologies, such as automation and artificial intelligence, to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary payroll liaison for the Leave Accommodations team, addressing all aspects regarding pay and wage replacement for Leaves of Absence for Chick-fil-A, Inc. and Related Entities.
  • Calculates and processes paid leave wages for all employees on leave.
  • Coordinates with Enterprise Risk and insurance providers regarding wage replacement processes coordinating with federal, state, and local workers compensation.
  • Manages requests from third-party providers concerning timekeeping, wage, and W-2 data.
  • Oversees the accurate correction of payments resulting from leave adjustments for employees.
  • Consults with the Payroll Center of Excellence and Legal on complex or unusual leave scenarios.
  • Leads customer service and inquiry management efforts, utilizing Service Gateway and other relevant tools.
  • Develops and implements processes for inquiry responses, including creating standard responses and knowledge base articles.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with the Support Now team for Payroll Operations.
  • Manages the verification of employment process for Chick-fil-A, Inc. and Related Entities.
  • Manages ACH returns, the printing and mailing of paper checks, and unclaimed property processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Excel for advanced data analysis, reporting, and problem-solving to drive operational excellence (Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel)
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to data accuracy, ensuring the highest level of reliability (Attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy)
  • Ability to connect innovative concepts to strategic goals, develop actionable plans, and see them through to successful implementation, adapting as needed.
  • A proactive and engaging team player who actively fosters a collaborative environment, building strong relationships and working effectively with both internal teams and external partners to achieve shared objectives (Focus on collaboration (internal and external))
  • Possesses outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly, listen actively, and engage effectively with diverse audiences in a professional and compelling manner (Excellent communication skills)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance, business, or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
  • Advanced knowledge of leave of absence payroll calculations
  • Proficiency in Alteryx or similar platform
