Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead operations at our new long-term care pharmacy location. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned pharmacist to build and manage a specialized pharmacy serving the unique needs of long-term care facilities and their residents.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Operational Leadership

• Oversee all pharmacy operations including dispensing, compounding, and medication management
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (DEA, Board of Pharmacy, CMS, etc.)
• Implement and maintain quality assurance programs specific to LTC pharmacy services

Staff Management & Development

• Recruit, train, and supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
• Develop staff schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage and emergency services
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development
• Foster a collaborative, patient-focused work environment

Business Development & Client Relations

• Build and maintain relationships with nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and healthcare providers
• Participate in facility meetings and clinical consultations
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility administrators
• Ensure exceptional customer service and clinical support to all clients

Regulatory & Compliance

• Maintain current knowledge of LTC pharmacy regulations and industry standards
• Oversee medication packaging, labeling, and delivery systems
• Manage controlled substance inventory and reporting
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensing

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• Active Florida pharmacist license in good standing

Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of pharmacy management experience
• 3+ years of long-term care pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with LTC-specific software systems and packaging equipment
• Proven track record in staff leadership and business operations

Skills & Competencies

• Strong clinical knowledge, particularly in geriatric pharmacotherapy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and technology
• Knowledge of Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and insurance billing processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience opening or managing a new pharmacy location
• Consultant pharmacist experience in long-term care settings
• Additional certifications (CGP, BCPS, etc.)
• Experience with robotic dispensing systems

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Manual dexterity for dispensing and compounding activities
• Visual acuity for reading prescriptions and labels
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally

Schedule

• Full-time position with some evening and weekend coverage required
• On-call responsibilities for emergency situations

Pay: $140, $160,000.00 per year
