Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food handling, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. Duties

  • Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes, ensuring adherence to traditional techniques and presentation standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to create innovative sushi menus that align with seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi preparation area, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Handle food products with care, ensuring proper storage and handling practices are followed.
  • Assist in catering events as needed, showcasing sushi offerings to enhance guest experiences.
  • Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs for restocking to the kitchen manager.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.

Skills

  • Proficiency in meal preparation, particularly in sushi making techniques.
  • Experience in fine dining establishments, demonstrating a commitment to high-quality food service.
  • Strong food handling skills, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and the ability to accommodate various dietary needs as a dietary aide.
  • Expertise in general food preparation within a kitchen environment.
  • Familiarity with culinary tools, particularly knife skills for precise cutting and presentation of sushi ingredients.
  • Experience in catering services is a plus, enhancing our ability to serve larger events.
