Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency in quality and appearance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and food processors.
  • Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
  • Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed.
  • Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed at all times.

Skills

  • Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
  • Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service.
  • Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations within the culinary industry.
  • Experience working in restaurants or kitchens is highly desirable.
  • Proficient knife skills for efficient meal preparation.
  • Knowledge of catering operations and serving techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
