We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Accountant. This role will play a critical role in overseeing the month-end close process, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. This position requires a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Improve processes impacting the accounting month-end and year-end close process.
  • Assist in developing and implementing robust internal accounting controls.
  • Prepare and record general ledger entries.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Account for stock-based compensation in compliance with ASC 718.
  • Compile technical accounting analysis of complex accounting transactions, such as new contracts or business combinations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist in the preparation of SEC filings, including 10-Qs and 10-Ks.
  • Coordinate the annual external audit and quarterly reviews by providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
  • Support management in the implementation of transformation efforts and continuous accounting system improvements.
  • Collaborate across departments and business partners regarding corporate accounting tasks.
  • Support the Assistant Controller and senior management with special projects and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA required, CPA preferred.
  • 4-8 years' experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems; experience with system implementations or upgrades is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
