Role Overview

The
Social Media Intern
will play a key role in enhancing the organization's digital presence and storytelling efforts. Working closely with the Communications Team, the intern will help manage VJC's social media accounts, create engaging content, and promote awareness of the organization's campaigns and initiatives.

This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, advocacy, and strategic digital engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and schedule content across social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and Facebook).
  • Assist in creating graphics, videos, and written content that highlight ongoing advocacy efforts and community stories.
  • Research and track social media trends to improve outreach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Research teams to translate research findings into accessible digital narratives.
  • Monitor analytics to assess campaign performance and suggest strategies for improvement.
  • Support the planning and promotion of online events, advocacy campaigns, and collaborations.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital engagement strategies.
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and design aesthetics.
  • Interest in labor rights, migration, human rights, or social justice issues.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design tools (preferred but not required).
  • Current college student or recent graduate in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or related fields.
