The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Reporting Services Analyst (Data) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll leverage your advanced proficiency in tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Access, and other database applications to produce high-impact work products. We're looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset who excels at gathering, evaluating, and synthesizing data from diverse sources to uncover insights and deliver clear, actionable conclusions.

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, Enforcement Branch Headquarters Reporting Services Unit, or designee, the incumbent performs the more responsible, varied, and complex consultative and analytical staff services assignments related to program evaluation, policy analysis and formulation, systems development, legislation, budgeting, planning, management, and personnel analysis. The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on data reporting and time activity in the Branch's Case Record Information Management System (CRIMS), Investigation Division Case Management Database (IDCM), Electronic Fraud Referrals system (eFD-1), and Consumer Portal.

The incumbent researches and analyzes data from these systems to identify fraud referral and case trends and prepares statistical and trend analysis reports regarding insurance fraud and violations for Branch staff, executive management, Legal Division, law enforcement agencies, and external stakeholders. This position trains Enforcement Branch staff and eFD-1 insurance industry users on the intake processes and systems, and provides consultative guidance the public, other state agencies, insurance carriers, law enforcement agencies, and others regarding the submission of suspected fraud claims (SFCs) and reports of suspected violations (RSVs). Occasional travel may be required within the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.). Travel may include overnight stay. Overtime may be required.

Effective January 1, 2026, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) will change the classification name of Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) to Analyst II. The Probationary Period will be 12 months for all NEW appointments with a start date after this change is implemented. For more information, visit the CalHR website ( ).
