Vice President of Communications Strategy
to lead its national communications, brand, and strategic direction.
From its Washington, D.C. headquarters, IPAA represents thousands of independent producers and service companies that develop over 90% of America's oil and natural gas wells and support millions of U.S. jobs.
About the Role
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President, Communications Strategy will guide IPAA's messaging, media relations, and long-term strategic planning. You'll bring together advocacy, public affairs, and member engagement under one cohesive vision — ensuring that IPAA's voice is clear, credible, and influential in Washington and across the industry.
What You'll Do
- Lead communications strategy, messaging, and brand positioning for the association.
- Reimagine media, digital, and thought leadership initiatives to elevate IPAA's visibility.
- Partner with government affairs team to advance advocacy goals.
- Serve as a senior advisor on strategic communications, organizational priorities, and crisis response.
- Strengthen relationships with members, policymakers, coalitions, media, and industry stakeholders.
What You Bring
- At least 7 years in strategic communications, public affairs, or government relations — ideally in energy, policy, or association leadership.
- Strong understanding of energy policy, energy production, energy use, and federal legislative processes.
- Demonstrated exceptional writing, storytelling, and leadership skills.
- Ability to think strategically, act collaboratively, and communicate with clarity and purpose.
- Bachelor's degree.

Compensation:
$165,000–$215,000, plus comprehensive benefits.
