Then we've got the perfect job for you We're seeking a Tasting Room and Events Associate to join our team and provide support to our busy events venue, winery, and tasting room. As a Tasting Room and Events Associate, you'll share your knowledge of Chemeketa Cellars wine and program history with guests at the tasting room, as well as provide support for meetings and events at our Eola event venue. This position will have the opportunity to provide opening, closing, and/or all-day meeting and event support. Applicants under 21 years of age are welcome to apply for this position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Greet and direct customers, answer questions, and provide general information.
- Serve and sell wine, beer, cider, and food to customers both in the tasting room and at occasional off-site events. Employees 21 years of age and older will attend an OLCC class to obtain their required serving license as part of their training. The class and license fees will be paid for by the department.
- Handle routine purchasing transactions.
- Ensure wines are adequately stocked in the tasting room/retail space.
- Perform minor facility housekeeping, including the tasting room, patio, and break areas daily.
- Perform kitchen work, including preparing charcuterie and cheese boards, dishwashing, and cleaning duties.
- Set up and break down meeting and event functions (tables, chairs, linens, etc.) and become familiar with meeting room equipment, set-ups and layouts.
- Staff meetings and events, greet and direct attendees, answer questions, and provide meeting and IT support as needed throughout the day.
- Handle equipment with care, maintain a clean storage area, and ensure all equipment is in good repair.
- Perform cleanup procedures as instructed (removal of linens, garbage, recycling and basic cleaning) and be responsible for the removal and storage of equipment and furnishings throughout the venue.
- Perform Banner and 25Live data entry.
Employees under 21 years of age may perform all duties as allowable by the OLCC Alcohol Service Permit Eligibility Requirements:
You must be at least 18 years old. If you are between 18 and 20 years old, there are restrictions on what you can do.
If you are 18, 19, or 20 years old, you can get a minor service permit. With a minor service permit, you may serve, pour, and draw alcoholic beverages only in areas of the business not prohibited to minors where alcohol service is secondary to food service. You may not mix drinks nor work as a bartender or cocktail server.
- You may enter and remain in areas prohibited to minors (such as a bar or lounge) only long enough to perform work-related duties such as:
- Ordering and picking up drinks for service in areas not prohibited to minors (such as a dining room)
- Clearing tables
- Stocking supplies, and
- Delivering food
- On your 21st birthday, these restrictions will no longer apply.
The OLCC will deny an Alcohol Service Permit Application for:
Felony drug or felony crimes of violence convictions
- 1 conviction if the incident occurred within 2 years of the date of your application
- 2 or more convictions if two of the incidents occurred within 4 years of the date of your application
- DUII or furnishing alcohol to minors diversions or convictions
- 2 or more diversions or convictions if two of the incidents occurred within 4 years of the date of your application
- A combination of diversions or convictions
- 4 or more DUII, furnishing, or felony drug or crime of violence convictions if all of the incidents occurred within 10 years and one incident or arrest was within 2 years of the date of your application.
- In determining whether to grant or deny your permit application, the OLCC may consider written proof that you were diagnosed as alcohol or drug addicted when your crimes involving alcohol or drugs were committed.

- One year of hospitality and/or wine sales experience.
- Previous and/or current hospitality or wine studies student.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Part-time hourly positions will not exceed 900 working hours per fiscal year
- All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
- Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
- Upon hire must successfully complete a physical agility test.
- This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
- If requested, you must supply official transcripts within 30-days of hire
- Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment.
- Successful applicants for designated positions must successfully pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. Only information relevant to the position will be considered. An individual with negative information on their background inquiry will not necessarily be denied employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium Work:Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
