Assistant Preschool Teacher

We are seeking a compassionate, attentive, and dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our Waldorf early childhood classroom. The ideal candidate is inspired by Waldorf education, enjoys working with young children, and is eager to support a nurturing, rhythmic, and imaginative learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the lead teacher in maintaining a warm, safe, and consistent classroom environment rooted in Waldorf principles
  • Help guide children through daily rhythms, including outdoor play, circle time, storytelling, creative play, and mealtimes
  • Model respectful behavior and gentle discipline, fostering a sense of wonder, and cooperation
  • Assist with preparation and clean-up of classroom materials and activities
  • Maintain a tidy and aesthetically pleasing classroom, aligned with Waldorf values
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
  • Must be open to working with a mentor and willing to take direction well.
  • Must love outdoors and going outside in all weather, year round.
  • Must maintain strict safety standards and licensing requirements at all times.
  • Must have very keen senses and awareness
  • Must be agile and able to get up and down off the floor easily and carry 30 lbs if needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a Waldorf or similar early childhood setting
  • Interest in or knowledge of Waldorf education and child development
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the lead teacher and colleagues
  • Patient, reliable, and committed to fostering a nurturing, rhythmical environment
  • Must be introspective and willing to do inner work
  • CPR/First Aid certification and background check required
  • Previous knowledge of working in a licensed childcare environment

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is either beginning their journey in Waldorf education or looking to deepen their experience in a supportive and heartfelt preschool community.
