You will be applying your expertise in autonomous vehicles, robotics, human factors, and data science for developing innovative approaches to human-vehicle interaction in automated driving-enabled vehicles. As a researcher in this group, you will implement your solutions on vehicles and publish your research findings in peer-reviewed journals to extend the reach of General Motors' development of next-generation technology. This will also include interfacing with universities, research institutes, and other advanced technology laboratories to build a network for amplifying your research.What You'll DoDevelop in-vehicle user interface solutions for automated driving-enabled vehicles and robotic systemsCreate tools to aid in the development or deployment of human-vehicle interface solutionsConduct user studies to enable evidence-based decisions about in-vehicle interfacesParticipate in government-funded research work, such as the NASA Lunar Terrain VehicleDocument your research through internal and external publicationsFacilitate technology transfer via active participation in cross-functional teamsYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)BS Degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics-related fieldResearch experience in at least one of the following areas: Autonomous Vehicle Technology, Connected Vehicles, Advanced Wireless Technology, Robotics, Zero Barrier Mobility/Accessibility, User Experience, Displays, HMI, Simulation, or other related areasStrong theoretical, experimental or software programming skillsWhat Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)MS or PhD in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics-related fieldFamiliarity with ROS or ROS 2 robotics frameworkHands-on experience with CAN bus communicationExperience with data analysis or AI/Machine Learning for engineering applications.
