We are creating an elite portfolio of software-defined vehicles by tightly integrating software, hardware, and services to create complete and compelling vehicle experiences for our customers.The RoleAs Product Manager – Digital Vehicle Controls, you will lead the definition and execution of the digital vehicle controls strategy, focusing on delivering intuitive, safe, and personalized user experiences across in-vehicle displays and interfaces. This role is essential to advancing GM's vision for software-defined vehicles, integrating human factors research, regulatory requirements, and technical innovation to deliver scalable digital control solutions. You will collaborate across engineering, UX/UI, and validation teams to ensure consistent, high-quality control logic and interface design, driving the right experiences and decisions between physical and virtual vehicle controls.What You'll DoOwn the product vision and strategy for digital vehicle controls, ensuring alignment with customer needs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Lead the definition and prioritization of features that drive seamless, intuitive experiences across physical and virtual control interfaces.Collaborate with engineering, UX/UI, validation, marketing, and sales teams to deliver consistent and high-quality control logic and user flows.Translate human factors research and customer feedback into actionable product requirements and scalable solutions.Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and risks in digital control systems.Develop and manage product backlogs, user stories, and go-to-market strategies for new features and enhancements.Define and track key metrics (OKRs, KPIs) to measure product success and inform future decisions.Communicate product updates, progress, and plan to stakeholders, including executives, customers, and partners.Conduct post-launch analysis and continuously iterate based on user feedback, market trends, and business goals.Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Minimum 5 years of product managem ent exper ience in digital products, with at least 3 years focused on vehicle controls, human-machine interfaces, or user experience.Demonstrated expertise in UI flow and human factors, with a proven ability to translate research and regulatory requirements into actionable product features and requirements.Strong cross-functional leadership skills, including experience collaborating with engineering, UX/UI, validation, marketing, and sales teams.Deep understanding of safety and regulatory standards relevant to vehicle controls.Experience managing product backlogs, prioritizing features, and driving alignment across teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and decisions to diverse stakeholders.Data-driven decision-making skills, including defining and tracking key metrics (OKRs, KPIs) to measure product success.Proven ability to synthesize customer insights, technical constraints, and business objectives into clear product strategies and roadmaps.Skilled in stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and consensus building to drive product outcomes in a matrixed organization.What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Visionary mindset – Ability to anticipate future customer needs and translate them into bold, practical product strategies.Cross-domain fluency – Comfort operating at the intersection of software, hardware, and design to craft seamless, scalable solutions.Track record of scale – Experience leading digital products that moved from concept to enterprise-wide adoption, delivering measurable business and customer impact.Human-centered leadership – Strong grounding in human factors and user research, with the ability to champion intuitive, safe, and delightful user experiences.Influence in complex organizations – Proven success navigating matrixed environments, building alignment, and driving outcomes across executive, technical, and design stakeholders.LI-KE2GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
