BRIEF POSTING DESCRIPTION:
The P CP PAYMENT PROCESSING Department of the P REVENUE MANAGEMENT Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 2 Bargaining Unit vacancies available. (Role: Non-Exempt)
Note: The Account Services Clerk I has a direct progression to Account Services Clerk II, Cashier, and Payment Processing Clerk positions (when there is a vacancy), with the pay ranges below:
- Account Services Clerk II, $ $31.32
- Cashier, $ $32.83
- Payment Processing Clerk, $ $39.59
JOB FUNCTION:
Clerical Pool – Performs clerical work for the division.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs cash processing duties as assigned; applies payments to customer accounts and prepares checks for deposit to banks.
- Obtains records or other information for customer accounts from various files and registers.
- Checks records for payments made on customer accounts.
- Processes nonroutine bill payments for HECO, HELCO, and MECO and field work documents using the on-line system for HECO bills.
- Writes up bill inquiries received.
- Answers telephones and takes messages; provides routine information or prepares orders as directed.
- Sorts and distributes bills, work orders, and computer reports; maintains log and files.
- May obtain information from customers, banks, telephone company, etc. concerning maintenance of records and proper application of payments.
- Types letters, reports, bills, etc.; maintains various files.
- Assists and/or substitutes for other clerical personnel in the division.
- Assume an emergency management role, as assigned, and perform specific assignments or functions, as needed, in an event of an emergency, not to include routine trouble calls/callouts.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs similar and incidental duties as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Support & Administrative Selection System (SASS). Note: Employees who have taken and passed the General Clerical Test do not need to take the SASS.
- Must pass the SRA Oral & Written Directions Test.
- Ability to type a minimum of 45 w.p.m. (to be determined by Company administered performance test) or be able to pass a standardized proficiency test on a computer terminal (to be determined by Company administered performance test).
- Ability to pass a 10-key adding machine/calculator test (to be determined by a Company administered test).
- Ability to identify and distinguish different colors and color hues required.
