tment of Customer Services
, Division of Motor Vehicle, is looking for a motivated leader to coordinate and administer the activities of the
Motor Vehicle Registration Branch**
. As the driver of this team, you will oversee key programs and ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant vehicle registration operations across the City.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the Registration, Cashiering, and Information and Processing Sections to ensure operations meet statutory requirements.
- Supervise registration programs by interpreting statutes, ordinances, and policies, and ensuring accurate registration and fee collection.
- Train and support agency supervisors performing vehicle and trailer registration to maintain consistency and compliance.
- Provide expert testimony in court on registration and titling matters.
- Coordinate registration operations with law enforcement agencies, Department of Information Technology, Traffic Violations Bureau, State Department of Transportation, other jurisdictions and other regulatory agencies.
- Perform other related duties of the position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
Education Requirement
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field.
Substitution : Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.
For Example
- Four years of professional work experience, in any occupation, may substitute for a general bachelor's degree.
- Four years of general work experience (does not need to be professional level experience) as a Supervising Motor Vehicle Registration Clerk or similar supervisory role in motor vehicle activities may substitute for a general bachelor's degree.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

- Planning laws, policies, and/or regulations for a program;
- Developing laws, policies, and/or regulations for a program;
- Interpreting laws, policies and/or regulations for a program; OR
- Implementing laws, policies, and/or regulations for a program.
