Job Summary

ArkVets has three valley locations in West Phoenix, North Phoenix and Central Phoenix. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technicians to join our veterinary teams. The ideal candidates will support veterinarians in providing high-quality care to a diverse range of animal patients, including dogs, cats. This role involves performing technical procedures, assisting with diagnostics, and ensuring the well-being of our patients through compassionate animal handling and clinical support. A strong background in veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and laboratory techniques is essential to succeed in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
  • Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff
  • Conduct laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Prepare animals for surgery, including animal catheterization and aseptic techniques
  • Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures
  • Maintain accurate medical records and document all treatments and observations
  • Provide pet care services such as grooming, pet grooming, dog training, and basic pet care education for clients
  • Assist with dental procedures utilizing dental terminology and techniques
  • Support kennel duties including animal husbandry and ensuring proper animal care standards are maintained
  • Operate X-ray equipment safely to assist with diagnostic imaging
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment adhering to aseptic techniques

Experience

  • Prior veterinary technician experience is highly preferred
  • Kennel experience and animal husbandry skills are advantageous
  • Experience with veterinary critical care, laboratory procedures, and X-ray operation is desirable
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and pet care practices is essential
  • Hands-on experience with dog handling, animal restraint, pet grooming, dog training, and equine experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as blood draws or sample processing is beneficial
  • Experience working with diverse species including exotic animals or horses will be considered an asset
