Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Phoenix Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is currently seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join their team Position Summary The Veterinary Technician Supervisor will play a critical leadership role in our emergency department, working closely with hospital leadership and the medical team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys developing others, and is passionate about emergency veterinary medicine. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision Serve as a role model and lead by example on the clinic floor. Provide direct oversight, coaching, and mentorship to the ER technical team. Ensure protocols, policies, and procedures are followed consistently across shifts. Follow up on coaching conversations to ensure implementation and growth. Conduct and document one-on-one meetings, training, and coaching sessions. Training & Development Develop and implement onboarding and training protocols for new technicians. Oversee and participate in the leveling process for technical staff. Identify and support employee advancement opportunities. Lead or coordinate continuing education and skill development efforts. Administrative Duties Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process for technical positions. Manage and coordinate the technician schedule across all shifts. Track and manage Paid Time Off (PTO) in collaboration with the hospital manager. Collaborate with leadership on performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Communication & Coordination Be available to meet with all shifts on a weekly basis to ensure alignment. Foster clear, respectful, and timely communication between teams. Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence. Schedule Requirements Minimum of 36 hours per week. Availability to meet with all shifts on a weekly basis. Must be able to work at least 2 weekend shifts per month. Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT) preferred, or equivalent experience in emergency veterinary medicine. 3+ years of clinical veterinary experience, with 1+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team in a high-pressure environment.
