The Events Coordinator plays a key role in expanding AT&T's visibility and engagement across South San Diego, helping connect neighborhoods and residents to the power of AT&T Fiber.

Position Summary

The Associate, Events Coordinator supports AT&T community marketing and outreach initiatives across South San Diego's AT&T Fiber-lit communities. This role focuses on identifying, coordinating, and executing local engagement events with apartment communities, HOAs, business associations, and public events such as farmers' markets or Chamber of Commerce gatherings.

The Events Coordinator will serve as the link between store managers, AT&T's regional marketing liaison, and local partners to ensure event logistics, staffing, and materials are seamlessly executed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, identify, and secure two or more local events per week (free or paid) in AT&T Fiber-lit areas, including multi-dwelling units (MDUs), apartment complexes, HOAs, and community events.
  • Partner with store managers to confirm staffing coverage and schedule coordination for all events.
  • Collaborate closely with the AT&T corporate liaison to ensure all event logistics—materials, displays, permits, and payments—are arranged and confirmed before each event.
  • Engage with store leadership to identify and plan in-store or local promotional events.
  • Develop and maintain a recurring calendar of community engagements (farmers markets, Chamber events, local business expos, etc.).
  • Conduct regular follow-up with apartment and HOA contacts to strengthen community partnerships and identify future opportunities.
  • Represent the brand in a professional and enthusiastic manner, ensuring compliance with AT&T brand standards and event guidelines.
  • Track event results, attendance, leads, and feedback; prepare weekly reports for management.
  • Manage event budgets responsibly, track expenses, and submit mileage and reimbursements in accordance with California labor laws.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in event coordination, marketing, or community relations (retail or telecom experience a plus).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to manage several events simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable vehicle for regional travel (mileage reimbursed).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic event tracking tools.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings as needed.

Schedule: Full-time (including some evenings and weekends)

Preferred:

  • Experience working with community associations, apartment communities, or local business groups.
  • Prior exposure to retail marketing, wireless, or telecommunications.
  • Strong local knowledge of South San Diego neighborhoods and community organizations.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Field-based role with frequent travel throughout South San Diego (Clairemont Mesa through San Ysidro).
  • Regular outdoor work at events; ability to lift up to 25 lbs for event setup.
  • Must be comfortable engaging with the public, speaking with business leaders, and representing AT&T at community events.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $20/hour
  • Mileage Reimbursement: Provided per California state guidelines
  • Additional Incentives: Eligible for performance incentives and potential growth opportunities within the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
