Summary of Job Duties:The Lab Support Technician II will be expected to perform clerical duties including, but not limited to, triaging phone calls, triaging specimens, assigning identification numbers to specimens along with patient name and specimen type, reviewing, verifying, and logging all incoming consultation cases from outside facilities into the UAMS system, and verifying patient status, insurance coverage and proper authorizations prior to services.

- High School diploma/GED plus two (2) years of laboratory or medical registration experience.

Job Requirements:
- The LST II is responsible for collecting patient information and data within regulation as well as guaranteeing patient identification throughout every process.
- The LST II works to support other staff members and the department as needed.
- Accessioning specimen outreach and Surgical Pathology.
- Verifying correct insurance for each patient.
- Clerical work for Gross Department. Triage all calls made to gross lab.
- Customer service: Assist clinics looking for results. Correcting incorrect patient information. Fulfilling any requests outside clinics may need, i.e. supplies, requisitions, etc.
- Maintaining a clean and organized area.
- Other duties as assigned.
