Summary of Job Duties:The Laboratory Support Technician supports the clinical laboratory through specimen accessioning and processing, instrument maintenance and laboratory testing as trained and authorized as well as other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time, temporary position
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent

Job Requirements:

  • Receive, label, and log samples (blood, tissue, chemicals, etc.)
  • Prepare samples for analysis (e.g., centrifuging, aliquoting)
  • Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and workspaces
  • Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on lab instruments
  • Monitor and restock lab supplies (reagents, glassware, PPE)
  • Assist in ordering and receiving lab materials
  • Enter test data and results into lab databases or LIMS
  • Maintain accurate lab notebooks and records for compliance
  • Follow lab safety protocols (handling hazardous materials, PPE)
  • Dispose of biohazard or chemical waste properly
  • Performs other duties as needed
