We foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment where innovation and continuous improvement are highly valued. Join SPS Commerce and be part of a dynamic team that's transforming the global retail supply chain

Position Summary
The Scrum Master plays a dual role in both facilitating Agile ceremonies and managing technical projects across a range of complexities. This individual will serve as a servant-leader for one or more Scrum teams, ensuring Agile principles are upheld while also driving the successful delivery of technical initiatives. This role is instrumental in empowering teams to deliver high-value outcomes iteratively and incrementally, while fostering a culture of ownership and accountability. The Scrum Master will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, developers, and product managers, to ensure alignment and transparency. The successful candidate is a proactive problem-solver, skilled communicator, and experienced project manager who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Coach team members on Agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support Product Owners in backlog refinement and prioritization, collaborating to ensure well-groomed backlogs and clear sprint goals.
  • Manage technical projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress.
  • Track and report on key Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown, team health).
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Support Agile transformation efforts and contribute to scaling Agile practices across the organization

Location:
Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid — onsite 2 days/week)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of Scrum Master and/or Agile project management experience
  • Proven experience managing technical projects in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
  • Emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust within teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of processes and/or services to contribute to issue identification and idea generation/evaluation
  • Experience developing processes and managing projects in a technology-based service organization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve goals without direct authority over personnel; ability to work with minimal supervision while taking initiative and setting priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment
