Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst & Business Intelligence Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, 4–5+ years of professional experience working with databases, proven expertise in MySQL, and a solid background in reporting and dashboard development.
This role will play a key part in supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization by designing queries, building dashboards, and delivering actionable insights that help teams make informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, optimize, and maintain MySQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, finance, product) to gather requirements and deliver insights.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation, cleaning, and transformation processes.
- Support database management tasks, including schema understanding, query performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
- Present findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to data governance and best practices for reporting and data management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4–5+ years of professional experience working with relational databases.
- Proven experience with MySQL: writing complex queries, joins, CTEs, stored procedures, and optimizing performance.
- Required: Experience building and maintaining dashboards/reports in Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar BI tools.
- Strong understanding of database structures and relational data modeling.
- Solid proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for ad-hoc analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify technical information.
- Experience with ETL processes, APIs, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Python, R, or SQL-based automation scripting is a plus.
