IGD Industries is currently looking to hire a Safety Specialist. This person will assist with the management of the company's Safety and Fleet programs. Experience in both construction and manufacturing industries needed.

Looking for career-minded individual interested in safety with a strong desire to excel.

Primary Duties:

  • Assist with the companies Safety and Vehicle Fleet Programs

o Help evaluate and develop safety / fleet policies.

o Ensure all policies comply with company and government requirements.

o Audit sites / vehicles for compliance with safety and fleet programs and processes.

  • Responsible for incident and injury investigations

o Develop mitigation strategies.

o Interact with injured employees and regulatory agencies.

o Assist with the company's Workers' Compensation and Fleet Management program.

o Conduct and document safety training

  • Interact with company's executive team, location managers, and field personnel.

  • Maintain appropriate level of awareness, knowledge, and preparedness of all safety and fleet requirements.

  • Evaluate employee safety behavior and performance to ensure training programs are effective.

  • Evaluate hazardous conditions and behaviors/practices and help develop controls and guidance to eliminate.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Willing and able to travel within Midwest Region to various business locations

  • Must complete OSHA 30-hour Construction course and First-Aid CPR within 3 months of hire.

  • Willingness to pursue additional professional qualifications if needed.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma

  • Strong communication skills

  • Prior construction or construction safety background preferred

  • Able to read and interpret various local, state and national safety regulations.

  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of management, field, and office personnel.

  • Physically able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and work in austere weather environments.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and travel to various job site locations.

  • Only candidates that can pass a drug test, background and DMV check will be considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50, $65,000.00 per year
