Overview of the Role:

Nutrition & Support Specialist is responsible for developing a nutrition program for clients served at the Youth Shelter. The position is responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines. Nutrition & Support Specialist supports the needs of the shelter through assisting with client supervision, transportation, medication management and other duties as assigned.

Shift: Primarily Monday-Friday 7 AM- 3PM. There may be overtime opportunities as well as night and weekend responsibilities.

Benefits:

• Starting per hour $18 - $20.
• Sign-on Bonus $1,000

What you'll do:

What you need:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

• Certification in ServeSafe a plus.
• Basic typing and data entry skills.
• Valid driver's license and be insurable by the agency auto insurance policy.
• Pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2 Crisis Services.
• Submit copy of college degree or transcript as required by licensure for personnel file.
• Live in Iowa.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Successfully complete required trainings within required time periods.
• Complete a physical exam prior to the beginning of employment and every three (3) years thereafter.
• Be free of communicable diseases as determined by a physician.
• Experience working with and compassion for at-risk youth preferred.
• Experience in strengths-based practices preferred.
• Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques preferred.
