Responsibilities
- Co teach preschool-aged children, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, art and more using the Montessori method.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and supports children's emotional well-being.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that stimulate cognitive, social, and physical development, including storytelling, arts and crafts, music, and movement exercises.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of each child's progress through observations and standardized testing methods; use data to inform lesson planning and individual support strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists in early intervention or special education to support diverse learning needs and ensure child welfare.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining high standards of classroom management and discipline.
- Plan lessons that incorporate childhood development principles, ensuring activities are engaging, educationally sound, and aligned with curriculum standards.
- Support toddlers' care needs by providing nurturing supervision during playtime, meals, nap times, and transitions throughout the day.
- Foster open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and developmental milestones through regular updates and conferencees.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior preschool experience is highly preferred.
- Montessori education or training preferred but not necessary.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development stages, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development for early learners including literacy education, math fundamentals, physical education activities, and Montessori methodologies. (Preferred)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage parents positively.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; additional training in child welfare or behavior management is advantageous.
