Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Afterschool STEM Tutor to join our team. This role involves providing engaging and interactive tutoring sessions for students in various STEM subjects, fostering a love for learning and encouraging critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, experience working with children, and the ability to create a supportive learning environment.

Duties

  • Develop and implement individualized tutoring plans tailored to each student's needs in STEM subjects.
  • Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that promote inquiry and exploration in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with parents and teachers to track student progress and adjust tutoring strategies as necessary.
  • Provide support for students with special educational needs, ensuring inclusivity in all activities.
  • Utilize various teaching methods to engage students with diverse learning styles.
  • Incorporate elements of early childhood education and childhood development into lessons to enhance understanding.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols and ensuring the well-being of all students.

Experience

  • Background in teaching or tutoring, particularly in STEM subjects.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies.
  • Skills in sports coaching or theater can be beneficial for creating engaging lessons.
