Contract Type: Interim Executive Assignment

Industry: IT Services (nearshoring/offshoring)

Duration: 3 to 6 months

xNorth is supporting the transformation of an IT nearshore services organization with operations across LATAM and a significant client base in the United States. Renowned for its technical delivery and client-centric culture, the company is entering a pivotal phase that demands operational stabilization, profitability optimization, and closer alignment between its commercial and delivery structures to sustain long-term growth.

Context of the Intervention

The organization is undertaking a strategic transformation to address margin pressures, fragmented delivery processes, and evolving market expectations. To lead this effort, the Board seeks an accomplished Chief Transformation Officer who will drive profitability improvement, rebuild the commercial engine, and embed a robust performance management discipline across the business. Reporting directly to the Board and working closely with both the CEO and Interim CFO, the CTO will lead a high-impact transformation program with measurable outcomes across financial, operational, and organizational dimensions.

Role Overview

The CTO will ensure commercial and delivery structures are aligned to market expectations, while implementing the tools, processes, and financial visibility required to support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Assess and streamline core delivery processes to improve profitability, efficiency, and client satisfaction across both LATAM and US operations.
  • Commercial Rebuild: Redefine the go-to-market approach, rebuild and refocus the sales organization, and reestablish disciplined account management to drive profitable growth.
  • Delivery Optimization: Address cost-to-price gaps by redesigning delivery models and aligning pricing structures with actual delivery costs and client value.
  • Portfolio Profitability Analysis: Work closely with the CFO to analyze the current client and project portfolio, identifying accounts and initiatives that consume excessive resources relative to their financial return, and implement corrective actions.
  • Cross-Regional Alignment: Strengthen coordination between the US commercial management team and the Mexico-based delivery organization, ensuring accountability and operational cohesion.
  • Performance Management: Establish KPIs, dashboards, and regular reporting to track profitability, delivery efficiency, and client retention.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a transformation or turnaround executive in IT nearshoring/offshoring services, outsourcing, or technology consulting.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with success leading both sales and operational restructuring.
  • Experience with nearshore delivery models, ideally spanning LATAM and US client bases.
  • Financial literacy and ability to partner effectively with CFOs to drive portfolio-level profitability improvements.
  • Strategic yet execution-driven, with a track record of delivering impact within compressed timelines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, particularly in cross-cultural and transitional ownership environments.
