Position Overview:

The Shared Services Accounting Manager will lead centralized accounting operations for a multi-entity manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for managing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), billing, and cash management processes across multiple plants and business units. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting skills with leadership experience and a continuous improvement mindset to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all shared services functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 3–6 accounting professionals handling AP, AR, billing, and reconciliations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and process excellence.
  • Accounting Operations:
  • Oversee daily AR/AP activities, vendor management, and customer billing for multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Prepare and review financial statements and support external audits.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements.
  • Assist with tax filings and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Process Improvement & Systems:
  • Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within shared services.
  • Implement KPIs and reporting tools to monitor performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support ERP system enhancements and integrations (experience with Sage Intacct, SAP, or similar preferred).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including shared services or multi-plant operations.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; experience with manufacturing cost accounting is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary ($110K–$130K depending on experience).
  • Bonus eligibility.
