Based in Philadelphia, Method Co. is an innovator and leader in the development and operation of hospitality projects around the country. Method owns and operates multiple hospitality businesses such as ROOST Apartment Hotel, Whyle Fully Furnished Short-Term Apartments, Wm. Mulherin's Sons Restaurant and Hotel, The Quoin Restaurant and Hotel, and HIROKI Omakase Restaurant.

Overview: This position is responsible for overseeing the operational management of the company's exempt and non-exempt payroll processing, off-cycle check requests, payroll tax accounting, and assisting with controls and reporting requests as needed. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain the payroll process while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, effective controls and timeliness for payroll related documentation. Experience with multiple departments and large volume nonexempt employees is highly preferred.

Job Description

  • Performs payroll-related functions including but not limited to tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposit.
  • Reviews and verifies payroll data in a timely manner, calculates overtime and other pay premiums, and enters payroll data.
  • Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
  • Managing electronic timekeeping systems or manually collecting and reviewing timesheets.
  • Maintains payroll records and files including but not limited to sick time and vacation and other accrued leave.
  • Partner with finance and accounting department on salary allocations and accurate processing of payroll accruals
  • Responds to routine inquiries concerning payroll deductions and accruals, wage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Posts journal entries and prepares month-end reports.
  • Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
  • Minimum of five years of payroll experience.
  • Experience processing large payrolls runs is preferred.
  • Current knowledge of federal, state and local payroll regulations
  • Experience with system implementations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforcenow
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
