Job Function: The Psychiatric Unit Therapist provides direct clinical services, including individual, group, and family therapy, to patients admitted to the psychiatric inpatient unit. The therapist collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team to assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions tailored to the psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients.

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and risk evaluations.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions (individual, group, and family).
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Facilitate structured psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups.
  • Participate in daily treatment team meetings, providing clinical input and recommendations.
  • Document patient progress, interventions, and discharge plans in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare referrals in collaboration with case managers and external providers.

Qualifications: Master's degree in behavioral health field with five years of experience with children, families/abuse and neglect.

Physical Requirements: Ability to see and hear in emergency situations. Must be able to complete NAPPI training and perform NAPPI techniques. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Special Working Conditions: Exposure to consumers and a variety of program conditions.
