Role Summary

The Digital Marketing Associate is responsible for the daily execution of all retention marketing initiatives, including email, SMS, and customer engagement touch-points. The Associate works closely with the VP of E-commerce to deliver tactical programs that drive customer loyalty and repeat sales. Key analytics will be evaluated for effectiveness and to serve as a baseline to develop more complex retention strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Retention Execution

  • Own the end-to-end execution of daily email and SMS campaigns in Klaviyo, ensuring flawless QA and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor performance metrics (open, click, conversion, unsubscribe) and flag optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure consistency of brand voice and merchandising priorities across retention channels.

Campaign Creation Support

  • Collaborate with the E-Commerce Coordinator and the Graphic Designer to ensure assets and product priorities are properly represented.
  • Write Subject Lines and Email Text to support the merchandising initiatives.
  • Support implementation of promotional calendars and seasonal campaigns.
  • Maintain campaign documentation and calendars for alignment across teams.
  • Communicate campaign priorities and performance to cross-functional partners as needed.
  • Create Event emails in conjunction with the Store Directors to support their initiatives.

Social Media

  • Schedule and post daily organic social content across Instagram, ensuring alignment with brand tone and merchandising priorities.
  • Monitor engagement (likes, comments, shares), escalate issues, and report weekly performance metrics.
  • Partner with the Graphic Designer on content calendars that support merchandising and campaign initiatives.
  • Contribute ideas for content that drives engagement and acquisition from organic channels.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Compile weekly retention reports highlighting performance and customer engagement trends.
  • Surface data-driven insights to inform testing and improve customer lifecycle programs.
  • Translate performance data into actionable recommendations, including A/B tests, lifecycle flows, and segmentation improvements.
  • Deliver insights in our weekly marketing meeting that help the buyers understand product performance and overall customer engagement.
  • Perform RFM analysis quarterly, to gauge how strategies are affecting the bottom line.
  • Track daily performance of Retention sales data.

Customer Service Support

  • Assist the Customer Service team by monitoring tickets and escalations related to e-commerce and retention campaigns.
  • Support implementation of customer service guidelines, ensuring messaging is consistent with marketing communications.
  • Help integrate customer feedback into retention and marketing initiatives to improve customer experience.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to clienteling initiatives for online stylists.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure flawless execution of campaign workflows, testing protocols, and approvals.
  • Stay updated on retention best practices and competitor activity, bringing forward new ideas.
  • Maintain retention marketing SOPs to ensure consistency, scalability, and smooth handoff across the team.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in digital marketing, ideally in email/SMS execution.
  • Proficiency with Klaviyo is required.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with comfort reviewing campaign performance data.
  • Proactive, reliable, and eager to grow within a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
