Job Description:
The Management Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Watts College Data Analytics team by developing dashboards, building analytical tools, and responding to ad hoc data requests. Reporting to the Director of Data Analytics and Enrollment Strategy, this position provides an exceptional opportunity to gain practical experience in data reporting, visualization, and applied analytics while contributing to the college's strategic goals.
This is a benefits-eligible, part-time (.5 FTE) position designed for current ASU students in data-related academic programs. The position offers professional development opportunities within a supportive, data-driven environment. This is a staff position, so selected candidate cannot hold an ASU student worker position concurrently.

Essential Duties:
Reporting & Visualization
- Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in Tableau, R Shiny, and related platforms for college stakeholders.
- Support creation and maintenance of standardized reporting assets for academic and operational use.
- Respond to ad hoc data and analytics requests.
- Document reporting processes and metrics definitions to ensure consistency.
Data Infrastructure & Analysis
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries using DBeaver, Report Builder (SSRS), or similar tools.
- Assist with data preparation and workflow automation using Alteryx and related software.
- Conduct data quality checks to ensure accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of data systems and dashboards.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with team members to refine analytics processes and enhance data products.
- Participate in project planning and brainstorming sessions to identify new reporting opportunities.
- Support project documentation, communication, and coordination with college departments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current ASU undergraduate or graduate student in good standing.
- Enrolled in one of the following (or a closely related) programs:
- MS Program Evaluation and Data Analytics
- BS Business Data Analytics
- BA Data Science
- MAcc Accountancy and Data Analytics
- MS Data Science, Analytics and Engineering
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL, HTML, R, and data visualization.
- Experience with Tableau, R Shiny, Alteryx, DBeaver, and Report Builder 2016/SSRS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to clearly communicate data insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Interest in continuous learning, innovation, and professional growth.
Working Environment:
- In-office, with regular team meetings over Zoom and in-person
- Activities performed primarily at a computer; extended periods of sitting and typing required.
- Regular deadlines may require adjusting work priorities.
