Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Superintendent, where your leadership and expertise will drive the successful delivery of complex projects. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all on-site activities of the terrazzo flooring installation to ensure adherence to safety standards, and maintain project schedules and budgets. Your proactive management will ensure quality craftsmanship and seamless execution from start to completion. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional ready to make a tangible impact on large-scale construction initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all construction site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with quality standards.
- Sites verify project conditions as much in advance as possible, reporting findings to the Project Manager in writing, with supporting data, pictures, videos, notes, etc.
- Knowledge of project budget, duration, and requirements before the start of the project. (The more advanced notice is practical.) adhering to the stated objectives above.
- Must pay particular attention to moisture slab levels, flatness, location of cold joints, and quantity of them (report discrepancy if any) compared to shop drawings; mark all visible cracks and flatness variances on available drawings. Please provide them with the contractor's project superintendent and in-house project management team as soon as possible, along with supporting documentation.
- If out-of-scope work is required, prior notification must be sent to the contractor's superintendent and in-house project management team with supporting documentation and a quick description of why and where/when this work will occur and the potential impact on the project.
- Once out-of-scope work starts, daily Work Order Tickets must be signed Daily by an authorized person from the customer's project team.
- Enforce OSHA safety regulations and conduct regular safety audits; promote a culture of safety awareness among all site personnel.
- Manage contracts, procurement processes, and compliance documentation to ensure contractual obligations are met efficiently.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify workmanship meets project standards; address issues promptly to prevent delays.
- Utilize construction site experience to troubleshoot issues related to site logistics, material delivery, or technical challenges such as pipeline or heavy infrastructure installation.
- Maintain accurate records of daily progress, incident reports, inspection logs, and other project documentation for transparency and accountability.
- Foster effective communication among project stakeholders including clients, architects, engineers, and team members to facilitate smooth project flow.
Experience
- A bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university in engineering or construction management is preferred.
- Proven management experience in large-scale construction projects with a strong track record of supervising diverse teams on active sites.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management practices, including scheduling (BuilderTrend), budgeting, blueprint reading, and contract administration.
- Hands-on experience with construction management software such as BuilderTrend or similar for document control and collaboration.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards (OSHA) and implementing comprehensive safety protocols on-site.
- Demonstrated ability in project scheduling, resource allocation, and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
