Required Skills:

  • 7-12 years of experience in document accessibility testing and remediation
  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Word WCAG 2.1 AA Remediation (styles, headings, alt text, reading order)
  • 3+ years PDF WCAG 2.1 AA Remediation Experience (tagging, logical structure, forms, links)
  • 3+ years of experience with accessibility testing tools
  • Ability to research laws, analyze policies and procedures, and interpret complex regulations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Problem-solving solutions to bring SCJB into compliance
  • Collaborate with diverse teams with various teams to ensure compliance
  • Proficient with relevant technology such as compliance management software and accessibility tools
  • Manage sensitive information and situations
  • Ability to train staff on creating compliant documents
  • Microsoft Word (styles, headings, alt text, reading order)
  • PDF (tagging, logical structure, forms, links)

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, audit, and remediate Word (.docx) and PDF documents for WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
  • Apply correct accessibility structure including tags, headings, styles, alt text, reading order, logical structure, and form fields.
  • Ensure documents are fully compatible with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers).
  • Validate accessibility compliance using industry tools and manual testing.
  • Track progress of assigned forms and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve compliance with ADA, WCAG2ICT, and SCJB accessibility standards.
  • Interpret federal ADA regulations and apply them to document accessibility practices.
  • Provide guidance or training to staff on accessible document creation and remediation best practices.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Use accessibility and compliance management software to support remediation activities.
