Position Overview
As a Business Development Partner, you will serve as the bridge between ULC's mission and our next generation of partners, funders, and clients.
This is a commission-based, entrepreneurial role ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, closing deals, and being part of a purpose-driven movement that transforms urban learning and workforce outcomes.
You'll generate leads, nurture partnerships, and convert opportunities into funded programs, sponsorships, and contracts for ULC's key initiatives — including:
- Teacher Licensing & Micro-Credential Programs
- Workforce Development & Employer Partnerships
- Social Responsibility Collaborations
- Annual ULC Fall Ball & Community Impact Events
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new contracts, grants, sponsorships, and partnerships aligned with ULC's mission and business models.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential B2B, education, and community clients.
- Conduct outreach via email, LinkedIn, and in-person events to build strong relationships with decision-makers.
- Present ULC's offerings clearly and persuasively through proposals, presentations, and calls.
- Collaborate with leadership to tailor partnership packages and close deals that advance revenue goals.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, proposals, and closed deals in ULC's CRM system.
- Represent ULC at conferences, community meetings, and networking events.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in business development, fundraising, sales, or partnership management (preferably in education, nonprofit, or workforce sectors).
- Strong understanding of urban education, workforce development, or social impact ecosystems.
- Self-motivated, organized, and outcome-driven.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thrives in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment.
- Existing relationships with school districts, community organizations, funders, or employers are a plus.
Compensation Structure
- Commission-Based Model: Earn a percentage of every contract, grant, sponsorship, or program partnership you close.
- Performance Incentives: Additional bonuses for meeting or exceeding quarterly revenue goals.
- Flexible Schedule: Remote/hybrid work with autonomy to build your pipeline.
- Growth Opportunity: Top performers may transition into salaried Business Development or Partnership Director roles.
